Safari is Apple's default browser on macOS and iOS, and its most practical advantage is efficiency: on Apple hardware it consistently uses less power than alternatives, which shows directly in laptop battery life.

It has strong built-in privacy protections, blocking cross-site tracking by default and hiding your address from known trackers.

Its extension ecosystem is much smaller than Chrome's, and it occasionally lags behind on newer web platform features — the main reasons developers keep another browser installed alongside it.
