OSChina is a Chinese community for open-source projects and technology news, functioning partly as a project directory and partly as a publication.

Its project index covers both international open-source software and domestic projects, with Chinese-language descriptions that are otherwise scarce for smaller projects.

It also operates Gitee, the code hosting platform, which gives the community a direct connection to where domestic projects are actually hosted.
