DiDi is the mainstream ride-hailing platform in China, covering standard rides, premium tiers, taxis and carpooling in one app.

It is integrated with the domestic payment systems, so paying requires WeChat Pay or Alipay rather than an international card — which is the main obstacle for short-term visitors.

It also operates in several markets outside China under the same brand, though with separate accounts and coverage.
