Coupang is South Korea's largest e-commerce platform, and its defining characteristic is delivery speed built on a fully owned logistics network.

Its overnight service delivers orders placed late in the evening by the following morning across most of the country — a standard set by owning the warehouses, the vehicles and the drivers rather than contracting them out.

That infrastructure is expensive but has proved difficult for competitors to match, and it is the main reason the platform holds the position it does in a market with strong alternatives.
